Underclassmen Challenge
The Underclassmen Challenge is where showcase meets combine.Designed specifically for 9th and 10th grade student-athletes, this event creates a unique platform that blends the excitement of competition with the structure and exposure of a football combine. Athletes are given the opportunity to compete in high-level skill activities while also displaying the measurable intangibles that make them stand out as future prospects. From speed and agility testing to position-specific drills, 1-on-1 competitions, and live gameplay situations, the Underclassmen Challenge allows young athletes to truly showcase their complete abilities. What separates the Underclassmen Challenge from a traditional combine is the competitive environment. Athletes are not only tested physically, but they are also challenged mentally and emotionally through football-related activities that highlight leadership, toughness, coachability, football IQ, and effort. It gives players the chance to compete against other talented athletes from different programs and regions while still developing confidence and experience at an early stage in their football journey.Founded in New York, the Underclassmen Challenge continues to grow rapidly and will now expand into a regional series across New Jersey and Connecticut. This expansion allows more student-athletes throughout the tri-state area to gain exposure and compete on a larger platform. The event is built to showcase every position on the field, making sure linemen, quarterbacks, skill players, and defensive athletes all receive opportunities to shine in front of coaches, trainers, media members, and evaluators. One of the most important aspects of the Underclassmen Challenge is the leadership behind it. The event is led by coaches who genuinely care about the development of young athletes and who truly love the game of football. These coaches not only evaluate talent, but also mentor athletes, provide guidance, and help prepare them for the next stages of their careers both on and off the field. The Underclassmen Challenge can be extremely beneficial for student-athletes moving forward because it introduces them to the recruiting and exposure process early in their high school careers. It helps athletes understand how combines operate, how to compete under pressure, and how to market themselves as student-athletes. It also allows players to begin building relationships with coaches, trainers, and media outlets while gaining valuable experience competing against top talent.Beyond football, the event helps student-athletes develop discipline, confidence, teamwork, communication skills, and accountability — qualities that will benefit them in the classroom, in athletics, and in life. As the Underclassmen Challenge continues to grow, it will remain committed to creating opportunities, building exposure, and helping young athletes take the next step toward their future.2026 Underclassmen Challenge
